What is BBF Salhouse Marketplace?

Located at the rapidly growing Black Barn Farm, we're a supportive, creative community passionate about promoting local makers and helping their business succeed. We offer purpose built stalls to be rented and booked out weekly within the barn. Open 7 days a week ready to ensure businesses get the most exposure during their booking. A dedicated and experienced sales team are on site to ensure that local artisans and makers have the chance to grow and develop their business through meeting customers and selling products.

Our History

In 2025, we were given the opportunity to take on the marketplace, and from the very beginning we could see what it had the potential to become. We felt incredibly excited about the possibilities and the chance to create something truly special for our community.We founded BBf Salhouse Marketplace with a simple vision: to bring people together and create a warm, welcoming space where local talent and creativity can shine. We’re passionate about supporting independent artisans, crafters, and small businesses, giving them a place to showcase their work and connect with the community.For us, this is about more than just shopping — it’s about connection. It’s about creating a place where people feel welcome, where conversations happen naturally, and where the community can gather and grow together.We’re so excited for the journey ahead and for everything this marketplace can become. The Marketplace was set up in April 2025 by Tom with a vision of creating a supportive community or crafters, artisans and small businesses working together to provide a marketplace for customers to find unique items. Due to the expansion and developments of the business Curtis was able to join us full time as an additional manager to ensure the marketplace continues to thrive!

Auntie G's Crafts

My name is Gwen Plummer and I have a stall in the Marketplace. I first came to the marketplace in February 2025 and had monthly popup stalls. I started with a few pieces and people seemed to like what I do .

Tom and Curtis were always there to give help , guidance and look after the stall for me if I couldn't be in due to other commitments. In April 2025 Tom asked me to become a permanent stall holder and to also help with the day to day running of the marketplace.

I accepted and I can honestly say I have never looked back. We support each other . I run ideas past Tom and Curtis for my stall and it's great to get honest feedback . I've watched my business grow over this time and I know if I hadn't of been here it wouldn't be as it is now .

Curtis helps me with all my signage for the stall and Tom is going to help with the next step, my Website and my on line shop. I am forever grateful for the opportunity and support that they have given me and continue to give me and it's wonderful when they are as excited as I am when I have a new idea .
